In 1976, as a student at California State University at Chico, I served as an intern at the San Francisco office of NORML, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, working under then NORML West Coast Coordinator, Gordon Brownell.
At the time NORML was attempting in influence the California State legislature with a proposed piece of legislation, Assembly Bill (AB-367), proposed by Willie Brown, which, if passed, would decriminalize marijuana for personal use in California.
I worked there during the early days of cannabis law reform.
I believe that we have fundamental God given right to use cannabis if we choose. I think the Cannabis Community needs to be acknowledged in this forthcoming election on November 8th. A vast majority of Americans want legal adult safe access to cannabis and each candidate should tell us in advance what they believe marijuana public policy should be, before the election.

State regulated cannabis is tested and is free from harmful contaminates, consumer quality assurance the underground market just cannot provide.
